Mr. President Dr. Bashar Al-Assad received at afternoon today, Mr. Bharrat Jagdeo President of Guyana Republic.
The discussions focused on bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to improve them, especially in the field of economy, culture, tourism and transport, including the benefit of the two countries and friendly people.
Also Mr. President presented the latest developments and Syrian vision towards it, and Syria’s efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.
For his part, Mr. Bharrat expressed about support of his country to Syria’s right in restoration of the occupied Golan, stressing the need to find a just settlement for the Palestinian cause through the commitment of Israel to implement international resolutions.
Also discussed the Arab summit of Latin American to be held in Doha later this month, and the need to strengthen various forms of cooperation between Arab countries and countries in Latin America and the Caribbean in order to contribute to the well-being and prosperity of their peoples and strengthen their capacity to face future challenges of water shortages, food and the importance of coordinating the positions of these countries in international forums in order to establish peace and stability in the region and the world.

Mr. President Dr. Bashar Al-Assad received at morning Mr. Helmut Cottin the Director of the International Children’s Villages (SOS) , where Mr. President support for the efforts of the organization to help orphans and disadvantaged children and provide care for them.
Mr. President reviewed with Cottin projects children villages in Syria, noting the special efforts of Mr. Cottin in support programs of SOS in the world.

Mr. President Dr. Bashar Al-Assad received at afternoon previous President Of Lebanese Emile Lahoud and his two sons.
During the meeting, review the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Mr. President Dr. Bashar Al-Assad received at afternoon today, Mr. Amro Moussa, Secretary General of the League of Arab States and the heads of delegations participating in the meeting of the follow-up and implementation of the decisions of the twenty-Arab summit held in Damascus last year.
