Mr. President Dr. Bashar Al-Assad received at today morning, delegation from the American Congress headed by Mr. Stephen Lynch.
Addressed the meeting Syrian-American relations and ways to move it, through the more serious and constructive dialogue based on mutual respect and common interests in order to reach a just and peaceful solutions to the problems of the region.
During the meeting talking about the situation in the Middle East and the need for United States to play an active role in achieving peace in the region, after tests proved that wars create more problems and deal with human tragedies, and talking about situation in Iraq and his future.
Also talk on subject of the fight against terrorism by working to achieve stability and peace in the region.
The delegation members are keen to further dialogue and openness on Syria to cooperate with them to reach deeper and more comprehensive vision of the issues of the region, and expressed their admiration for the atmosphere of fraternity and tolerance, which enjoyed by Syria.
